Pale Forest
Wyrd
Hear the tune from the woodlands Ghastly, forlorn Hear the song of the forest Pale, eternal! I carve the runes for the spirits to speak For the ghosts to dance among these trees I chant the spells for the dead to live For the souls to soar among the stars Feel the eyes, staring at you When you are all alone Feel the cold, invicible hands Touching all over you When the fullmoon reaches it's zenith Above this pale and cold forest I enter the circle of bones I recite the rites, embrace the night I call forth the ancient spirits Whom once roared in these woods Once alive, alive once more

Official reissue on tape and digital format, authorized by the band.

Huldrafolk is the second album from the one-man Pagan Black Metal project WYRD. Released in May 2002 via Millenium Metal Music, the album served as a natural continuation of the debut, Heathen. However, unlike the debut’s single 51-minute opus, Huldrafolk features a total of six tracks, allowing for more variety and progression.

In addition to the expanded tracklist, Huldrafolk incorporates stronger folk influences. For many WYRD fans, this is the defining album - thanks to fan-favorite raw yet melodic folk-styled tracks like “Aijeke” and the title track “Huldrafolk.” Even with the added folk elements, there's no need to skip the album if that's not typically your style. Songs like the grandiose 13-minute “Ashes of Man and Oak and Pine,” the brooding “Misanthrope’s Masterplan,” and the fast-paced “Pale Forest” harken back to the band’s rawer, demo-era sound.

All in all, Huldrafolk stands as a seminal release - an essential listen for any Pagan Black Metal fan looking to dive deep into the genre.

Sacrifire Productions will be releasing the album on tape later in Spring 2025.
