Making this album has seen me through a… “challenging” time. I’d been so swept away by struggles at work, the state of the world, and other things that I wasn’t even fully conscious of how depressed I was until I was almost done with it. At one point, I paused and listened through the songs and thought to myself “whoa, this is sad.”
Honestly, I think how hard and fast I was going with this album contributed significantly to being thoroughly burned out about two thirds of the way through, but it was a much better option than quitting my job in a rage.
I’m very, very lucky to have had music as an outlet and to have been able to create this album. I already know that this one will hold a very dear place in my soul. I hope that it finds other souls to help carry them through hard times.
