Sleepthink's second album 'joy' arrives early July. Following his debut album in 2025, 'RETURN TO THE ROOFTOP', which was met with widespread acclaim and awe, praised for its unique sound palette and deeply emotional contents - this next chapter continues the story of Sleepthink, exploring texture, evoking memory and encouraging reflection through sound. While Sleepthink's debut delved into the depths of grief and loss, 'joy' takes a broader, philosophical approach, analysing and exploring concepts of pleasure, reality, perception, hedonism, absurdism and more.
With evocative song titles and clear tonal development through each piece, Sleepthink invites the listener to explore meaning in the tracks through each clue given. While ambient or instrumental music is often thought of as background music, conveying only a vague mood or 'vibe', Sleepthink challenges this notion and encourages his audience to investigate the depth of thought injected into each piece.
Sonically Sleepthink presents a more mature and refined iteration of his signature blend of ambient electronica. Versatile synthesis techniques, acoustic instrumentation, field recordings and sonic manipulation are all found in spades across the 8 track release.
