Teach Them To Weep
I watched her gazing skyward Engulfed in light, my lunar bride Tangled up in serpentine vine Drawing down the Hunter's Moon Milky skin on pulsing void Mirrored stars on rippled water The town reposed, just us alone The halos glow, snow promised soon On the banks, the crimson leaves Trace death to her and her to me Her fingers weave through brindled fur Undulating with each breath Oh, to be the waning beast Transfixed with love inside her grasp Curling up in her open arms Exchanging stares before death A branch gives way Now I have become the prey I can feel her obsidian eyes lock on mine and I cannot look away Trapped in a hypnotic state Serpents doing her bidding Wrap 'round my ankles She's levitating Screaming Floating my way My fate is sealed I am the new offering Sacrificed to please the great Orion

The writing and recording process for this began in April 2025. Almost all the lyrics are written as short stories. Some of the themes include psychedelics, the occult, and interstellar travel. My favorite part of any music project that I've ever done or been a part of is writing the lyrics, but the meanings often get lost in translation. Below, I've included short breakdowns to what each song is about.

FFO: conspiracies, The Magic School Bus, Guns N' Roses, the color teal, forgiving people who aren’t good at genre classification or tagging

Nothing is what it seems. Form your own conclusions. Commit thoughtcrimes while you still can.

I never have and never will use AI in any of my creative endeavors.

The veil is so thin it's about to break.

Lyrics Breakdown:

1. Pale Blue Reflection

The Earth is dying from the aftermath of nuclear war. A large group of strangers are selected by unnamed entities to repopulate a "new earth". They all wake up on a spaceship, unknowingly headed toward the Alpha Centauri star system...

2. Invocations of the Moon by Nora Godfrey

About a group of friends going on a road trip to a conference, where their favorite occult author, Nora Godfrey, will be making an appearance. The protagonist, who is the narrator of the story, is infatuated with the author. Picked by a "lottery number" at the bottom of a cup of absinthe, the narrator is selected to come up to an altar and is part of a ritual, for better or (most likely) worse...

3. Bus With No Number

About an MK Ultra type experiment where the test subject is given BZ (3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate), which is a powerful psychedelic, and tortured until they become a Manchurian candidate. Between the tortures, they are made to watch old reruns of the PBS show, The Magic School Bus. They are finally set free and end up doing what they were programmed to do...

4. The Hunter and Orion's Thrall

A hunter who just shot an animal during the Hunter's Moon is tracking it by following the blood. He comes across a witch holding the animal while she stares at the full moon. Very quickly, from a distance, he falls in love with her. While he's admiring her beauty, a branch he's leaning on snaps and she then turns her attention on him...

5. Heroic Aldous

A person takes a "heroic dose" of LSD before a train ride. They start to feel uncomfortable and try to read the book they brought with them, The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley, but the LSD comes on too strong and they start to have an intense trip. One second, things are glowing and look heavenly and the next they're thrust into a hellscape. Back and forth it goes until they can't take it...

6. A0F

An interlude and sister track to A0G meant to be the "cacophony of noise" from A0G and a close representation of what it sounds like.

7. A0G (Oppressive Convulsive Dysphoria)

This is an autobiographical song.

8. Beyond the Veil

About the house I grew up in where I've had a fair amount of paranormal experiences. By an interesting series of events, this is now the home I own and live in with my wife.
