About The Biscuit Merchant
"[With] The Biscuit Merchant, you can be certain about one thing: the delineations between subgenres are gonna get murky. Where, you may wonder, does death begin and thrash end? How many progressive tendencies can you cram into a track before it becomes clearly identifiable as prog metal? How many vocal stylings can one vocalist muster?" - Sleeping Village Reviews
The Biscuit Merchant combines multiple metal styles to create a truly unique sound. Blasting drums, thunderous vocals, tight songwriting, all held together by the almighty riff. The new album, Golden Age (released May 8th, 2026), represents a renewed focus on riffs and songwriting, while still contributing to the long-running ALPHA project. Golden Age is a tour de force of metal subgenres, jumping effortlessly between thrash, death, doom, black, and prog metal from song to song.
Golden Age represents the letter "G" in The Biscuit Merchant's overly-ambitious multi-album mega-project, ALPHA. When complete, the project will consist of 26 albums, one for each letter of the alphabet, flowing from A-Z. Each album begins the way the previous letter ended. Fans can already experience a four-album run if they want to get a taste of the finished project. By listening to Tempora, Unexplained Wounds, Visible Scars, and When Heart and Mind Collide in order, listeners will gain a new appreciation for the monolithic scale of ALPHA.
