ABOUT THE RECORD
New Jersey trio The Crooked Skulls play heavy rock built on groove and feel. Their latest full-length, Midnight Sun, keeps things simple — thick riffs, a locked-in rhythm section, and songs that stretch just enough to let the weight settle in.
“Ashes I See” and “Slow Steal” lean into mood without losing momentum, while “Iron Smile” and “Let Me Out” hit with direct, riff-first punch. “Skullbong” keeps things loose, and “Judgment Day” closes with a darker edge. The title track sets the tone — forward-moving, unpolished, and grounded.
Produced by John Naclerio and mastered by Kent Stump, Midnight Sun captures the band as they are live: no gloss, no overthinking — just heavy rock played with intent.
