Notes on the Smart Dust Trilogy

When we made the decision to move to Ampwall, I felt the time had come to re-release the music from the first three Smart Dust albums as one collection, Smart Dust Trilogy.

These pieces have always belonged together; they came to life during the Covid lockdowns and their aftermath. Originally released on 12 February, 6 August, and 29 December of 2021, they’re a musical chronicle of my life and the world at that time, filled with conflict, twists, turns, and hope.

Combining free improvisation, structured form, and structured forms carved out of free improvisation, Smart Dust is as much a frame of mind as it is music. Moving against the grain, this music almost demands deep listening. It's music that will transport you to a world of your own invention when you put on your headphones or turn up your speakers, close your eyes and LISTEN.
