Those Other Escapes

Trellick was originally intended as a cathartic project. It was to be a way to work through my anger and despair at the rotten heart of Britain, to channel my own sadness and depression, and in some small way to say something about the mounting cruelty and hatred that I saw in the world together with my own complicity in all of this. But instead I found that the oppressive weight of those feelings was concentrated and distilled, focussed and intensified.

The raw materials of these latest rigidly structured tracks are laid bare with driving basslines, relentless beats and abrasive synths saturated in gritty distortion or echoing in abandoned spaces. The stark introspection and political commentary cannot not be ignored or overlooked - this is brutalist body music.
