A creeping suspicion Lurking in the corner of my mind That everything beautiful, terrible, worthwhile Is slipping towards the horizon The center of the galaxy beckons The monster under the bed reaches out It has no problem taking all Everything that ever mattered Fourteen billion years The hunger of that chasmic void Is utterly insatiable Time itself broke loose Darkest night came to Instantaneous Inversion of truth Every small human idea of meaning Repurposed to sustain the singularity Treated like a freak for having thoughts no one thinks I saw a memory in my dead reflection, you couldn't breathe The atmosphere had grown too thin, the leaves falling from the trees And why couldn't I form a thought, and why couldn't I see a thing? Everyone was pulled apart into gory strings The ground became the sky and then bygone history When time itself collapses and all light is extinct And just like that, it's over for all Earthly beings Waxing horizon engulfing The sky became night, and the world was fed into infinity Seeing horrors every day Feeling something awful coming Impending doom The worry keeps me guessing A crying-out from deep within Is there a pulse left? No Time itself breaks loose Darkest night came to Instantaneous Inversion of truth Every small human idea of meaning Repurposed to feed the singularity Spiraling energy Timeless and wholly devoid of meaning The essence of everything stripped back into first principles

Inspiration, found in a memory. A memory, found in the eyes of my dead reflection.
Presenting 'Singularity,' the newest release from AOECIST.

Zooming in is easy for me, so I tried to zoom out a bit, and explore the relationship (or lack thereof) between localized human suffering and the rest of the known universe. But not before a more personal intro track.

By the way. This is art. Nihilism is not my actual worldview. I do not condone disregard for the value of human life. This is an outlet for a burden I carry through life. Depression sucks.
