Insurrection

The slime gets everywhere Turn over any rock and you'll find corruption So expose it to the open air Leave it facing its imminent destruction The decay is far advanced And the rot has been spreading unchecked It's past time the boil was lanced And the halls of power were disinfected The time is past for expedience It's time for a little disobedience Time to deliver a little correction Time to show our disaffection Time to drive out the infection Rise up in insurrection Our leaders are mired in sleaze Surrounded by bribes and cronies and kleptocracy They're rotten right through, it's like a disease Such is the rise of the mediocracy The time is past for acceptance Now it's time for resistance Time to deliver a little correction Time to show our disaffection Time to drive out the infection Rise up in insurrection We don't have to stand for their contempt They can't stand without our consent They must face up to outright rejection Their indifference sparked our insurrection The time is past for genuflection The time is here for insurrection We're not asking for perfection But more honesty and less deflection Lies won't offer much protection Against our insurrection Time to deliver a little correction Time to show our disaffection Time to drive out the infection Rise up in insurrection
