Have you seen the keys to my heart Fireflies circle around my vision Come and watch the stars drop down Touching ground is their new ambition Where emotion needs response But the walk slows to a crawl There are fissures in the halls And a destiny that can’t be changed Can’t be changed (there’s a chemical error) Can’t be changed (now the reign is terror) Can’t be changed (now the way grows slender) Where we swept the embers Describe this present moment as the start of your slide Where the lesson of the motion is when you die inside Staring at the overpass to calculate the distance All who know this pain know that the path of no resistance Can’t be changed If i write another verse and try it out on you Will I sing to save myself, when the song is violent blue I can’t write this down, and cannot sound it out The only song left of the life I learn to live without That can’t be changed Can’t be changed (there’s a chemical error) Can’t be changed (now the reign is terror) Can’t be changed (now the way grows slender) Where we swept the embers All that we remember can’t be changed

Describe This Present Moment is Che Arthur's fifth album under his own name. In ten songs the Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/engineer/producer pits the taut, concise punk/indie structures and contemplative acoustic-based textures of his previous albums against heavier moments that call back to Pink Avalanche, the currently "on hiatus" band Arthur helmed from 2010-2020. Moment sees Arthur expand upon his cathartic, darkly melodic post-hardcore work in Pink Avalanche, his previous solo work and as guitarist in regarded early 2000s Chicago quartet Atombombpocketknife.
