Ruins
The Demographic
I built a cathedral just to watch it fall apart Forgotten & buried and folded in to my heart A brick, a bone, a cup, a grave among the trees And there in the ruins I sunk into the leaves I guess that There is nothing more for me to tell The four, the three, the two, and well I can't seem to find the one There is nothing left undone It's all plowed under now, erased from all the maps I'll hold these remnants close, a record of collapse A ghost, a footprint, a foundation, an outline And here in the ruins I draw a new design I guess that There is nothing more for me to tell The four, the three, the two, and well I can't seem to find the one There is nothing left undone No more for me to tell The four, the three, the two, oh well I can't seem to find the way It will fade away I watched it all decay away

“More bombastic fun from this duo from Northampton, MA – both a full-length and an EP!”

— John MacLeod, Comic Rawk Top 21 Albums of 2021

Hiatus (2021) was recorded and mixed in Easthampton, Massachusetts by Grant Wicks at Uncanny Audio — mostly in 2019, with sporadic overdub and mixing sessions before/during the pandemic. We brought aboard bass powerhouse Marc Seedorf (Mark Mulcahy sideman, engineer, Dinosaur Jr. guitar tech, and a woodworker t’boot) to turn us into a trio. Whoa!

Hiatus covers a lot of territory, shifting from the mountain-crushing “Wolves” to the rusty coffee can filled with spoons that is “Hole In The Sea,” from the Bob Mouldiness of “Descent” to the Nirvanishness of “Everybody Leave,” from the wicked evil “Sad Satan” to the storm-battered coast of “Clear Them Decks.”
